In November 2018, Malibu, CA was devastated by wildfires. New Life was able to collect and send financial support to Waveside Church which blessed a family of seven after they lost their home. Evelien Lupo sent us a note to express the family’s thanks.

SERVING WICHITA

This summer was spent reaching our neighborhood in fun, new ways like a pancake dinner and a family art night. Our Serve Wichita Summer ended by participating in the city-wide “block party” Open Streets ICT. On this day, Douglas Street is closed to vehicles from College Hill to our front door. Thanks to our location, we have such an incredible opportunity to reach people in a fun way!

Serve Wichita Holiday is now in full swing! Thanks to your generosity, we’ve been able to provide 1,500 boxes of stuffing mix to help Bread of Life Ministries prepare Thanksgiving meals for Wichita families in need. We also hosted and served over 100 people on Thanksgiving and shared a feast. And our Christmas Toy Drive and Distribution Day will help make sure that kids in our neighborhood will have presents to open on Christmas morning.

TOGETHER WE WIN

Did you know that New Life Covenant Church has over 20 ministry areas to serve in? Over 200 volunteers serve in those areas on Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, during conferences, and more. In November, all of these volunteers got together to celebrate that “Together We Win.” We know every ministry relies on another, and that is what’s so great about serving with so many excellent Christ-like people.

“Each member has been given divine gifts to contribute to the growth of all; and as these gifts operate effectively throughout the whole body, we are built up and made in perfect in love.”

FULLY DEVOTED TO OUR COMMUNITY

PROJECT 1819

When we started the Fully Devoted series, we had big plans for our building including replacing the 64-year-old HVAC system, getting common areas ready for more guests, and adding restrooms to the North Lobby. During Quarter 1 (March-May), the HVAC project was completed, and we got our gym looking clean with fresh paint. During Quarters 2 & 3 (June-November) we have been busy with putting in fresh landscaping, new fencing, and upgrades to our Multipurpose Room.

Now we also have plans drawn up for the new restrooms, and construction will begin in early 2020! We know having another restroom on our main level will serve our people and guests well.

We are making amazing progress here at 1819 W. Douglas, and it’s all thanks to your generosity. As you’ve probably heard us say, there is nothing inherently spiritual about bathrooms, parking, or heating and air. The value comes when we realize that each of the items and each of these spaces represents room for a person to become connected to God and to the church family. We are maximizing our property’s potential so we can reach our community in a greater way!
